How we manufacture:
Every Emssence product begins with intention and is shaped by many hands.
Our PURE skincare is hand-blended in small batches at our Windhoek factory, where our in-house biochemist, Tangeni, bottles each blend with quiet precision and care. Every formula has been refined over time, tested on Namibian skin for over five years, perfumed with natural essences, and made to be felt.
For our BOTANY body care and amenities, we infuse imported base products with scents inspired by Namibia’s wild flora, formulated and finished right here at home by Jeremia. From Windhoek, we dispatch to the farthest corners of the country, leaving a trail of scent in Namibia’s most unforgettable stays.
Our lifestyle pieces carry the marks of their makers: hand-selected, hand-stitched, and thoughtfully made. From the women-led teams in Khomasdal and Wanaheda to Cape Town’s artisan studios and block-print collectives in India, each item honours craftsmanship, community and creativity.

Marianne Labuschagne
Part alchemist, part aesthete – Marianne Labuschagne is the heart behind Emssence.
Her journey began in 2007 with a suitcase full of Namibian curios and a deep love for this land, its textures, its fragrances, its untamed beauty. Over time, her path wandered from sourcing handmade goods to designing leather bags and, eventually, to crafting the scents, skincare rituals and wearable art that would become Emssence.
Marianne’s gift lies in blending the sensual with the soulful – balancing beauty, sustainability and storytelling in every formula. Her reverence for nature is matched only by her devotion to creating things that feel good: for your body, for your spirit, and for the planet.
